The auction world is typically still somewhat sleepy in February, having awakened only in mid-January to issue a few new sales. The auctions may be few in number but that allows the more interesting stuff to take the spotlight. The theme of the month is wine, with Sotheby’s, Christie’s and Bonhams all holding sales of fine wines.
