The Jaguar XJ remains relevant in the full-size luxury sedan arena with features for the discerning Anglophile, including a 12.3-inch Virtual Instrument Display and a 20-speaker 825W Meridian Audio System.

Between the driver and front passenger, InControl Touch Pro puts all essential in-car control along with multimedia playback and Bluetooth connectivity front and centre via an 8-inch touchscreen.

For Malaysia, three engine options are available – 240PS 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, 340PS 3.0-litre supercharged V6 and 300PS 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6 – all in long wheelbase form.

Aesthetically, the trademark upright XJ grille has been slightly reworked while the full LED adaptive headlights are paired with distinctive ‘Double J’ daytime running lights for a more confident first impression.

The profile of the XJ is still as breathtaking as it always has been, eschewing the traditional three-box shape in favour of a sharply-raked rear windscreen which flows beautifully into the aft end of the limo through partially blacked-out C-pillars.

Safety and driver assistance is on par with the best of its peers, including around-view monitoring, low speed cruise control, and a Pedestrian Contact Sensing System, which automatically raises the bonnet in the event of a collision with someone on foot to reduce impact against engine components.

This redefinition of luxury from one of the oldest automotive manufacturers in the world is priced from RM645,000, combining beauty, luxury and power in a way only the British know how.
