Space-Age Dining Experience by Thierry Marx at Mandarin Oriental, Paris

Ever wondered if meals for astronauts could one day qualify for a Michelin star? Or perhaps, wondered what dinners in space would look like? You can put your hypothesis to the test, at Sur Mesure par Thierry Marx restaurant in Mandarin Oriental, Paris.

Every Tuesday in the month of March, diners will get to taste what Michelin-starred chef Marx created for astronaut Thomas Pesquet during his six-month stint, which began in November 2016, at the International Space Station.

The Space-Age Dining experience will see the restaurant transforming into a spaceship, with gastronomic versions of the dishes being playing up to the galactic theme.

Dishes from the six-course menu include chicken supreme with morel mushrooms and apple gingerbread, many of which were what Pesquet got to enjoy during Christmas, birthdays and other celebrations celebrated in space.

For those unable to take part in the weekly cosmic mission, The Cake Shop will offer Planet Marx (€8, S$12), a pastry made of Madong chocolate, caramelised pears and shaped to look like Mars.
