Up above the hubbub of Jalan Bukit Bintang sits Cloud 9, a fine dining restaurant most known for its Korean-born Executive Chef Ryan Lee. The 34-year-old Lee has had an illustrious 12-year career cooking in some of the finest restaurants including two Michelin-starred Jung Sik Dang of Seoul. Dinner showcased Lee’s ability to infuse classic dishes with a modern balance and sensorial appeal through beautifully plated courses.

Appetisers that evening for the Ferrari Owners’ Club Malaysia comprised seaweed noodles, rock mussel fritter and a miso sabayon brimming with flavours. A moreish cod with octopus broth followed before Parisien duck with a basil ‘bao’. Dessert was specially designed to commemorate the guests that evening, with a Ferrari strawberry and vanilla concoction before the petit fours. There was time yet for guests to enjoy the privacy of the 36-seat restaurant, savouring the tipple of the evening, a 2014 Chateau Malescot St Exupery Margaux.
