The inaugural Robb Report Mansion at the stately Macalister Mansion

On a perfect Friday evening, guests of Robb Report Malaysia showed up at Macalister Mansion in Penang to partake in a night of luxury leanings. It began with a test drive of Audi’s sedans and sports utility vehicles, as well as a preview of the new TT and head-turning R8.

Soon after, drams of Balvenie single malt whisky were enjoyed, with the introduction of the new Caribbean Cask 14 Year Old and returning favourites such as the DoubleWood 17 Year Old, PortWood 21 Year Old and the evening highlight, The Balvenie Thirty with its honeyed nose, rich dark chocolate palate and smooth spice finish.

Guests were entranced by a glittering selection of Montblanc writing instruments, among them the limited edition Luciano Pavarotti and Steinway fountain pen as well as this year’s SIHH release – the Villeret Tourbillon Cylindrique Geospheres timepiece.

Then came a copious pouring of French wine with Chateau Montrose, Chateau Rauzan Segla and Chateau Le Crillion de Angelus making an appearance, paired with truffle brie and applewood-smoked cheddar by The Wine Shop.
