Gaggenau Taps Up MasterChef James Won As Its First Malaysian Culinary Partner

Gaggenau, with over 300 years’ of brand heritage, now welcomes MasterChef James Won into its fold as its first Malaysian Culinary Partner. For a brand most synonymous with luxury professional-grade home appliances, this development adds a new and exciting element to its Malaysian presence, hot on the heels of its flagship experience centre located at Damansara Utama in Petaling Jaya.

Its choice of Won as the first Malaysian talent for the Gaggenau Malaysian Culinary Partnership was merited by Won’s multi-faceted career, having cut his teeth with some of the greatest names in gastronomy at leading three Michelin-starred restaurants in France and Japan. Won’s pursuit of culinary achievements has also been recognised with a slew of awards for his contributions to the dining scene. Among the latter is the Order of Agricultural Merit (The French Ministry of Agriculture and Food) and the Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne.

For Gaggenau, 2025 marks a turning point in its journey which has already seen the brand appear in some of Kuala Lumpur’s top residential projects such as Pavilion Damansara Heights and TA Global’s CloutHause Residences in the heart of the city. The partnership with Won will also result in masterclasses and bespoke dining experiences at the Gaggenau Inspiration Haus in Damansara Utama across the span of the year, in addition to content by Won showcasing how Gaggenau’s range of cooking appliances are able to produce consistently spectacular home cooking.

At the announcement ceremony, Won showcased his culinary chops with a breakfast menu of artisanal breads such as sourdough and croissants baked by Gaggenau’s oven, paired with truffle butters, cheeses and a savoury duck egg , salmon, caviar and gratinated potato dish entitled The Art of Precision. Next up was The Elevation of Sweetness; a yogurt parfait combo of roasted granola, crème anglaise, gelée, and sponge.

In his showcase of the dish using Gaggenau’s professional series induction cooktops, Won also demonstrated the amazing performance of the Gaggenau gas range, which boasts remarkable ironmongery, guaranteeing the ‘wok hei’ through its high-heat flame, and durability, attributed to over three centuries of expertise, dating back to 1683 when Gaggenau was first founded.
