Johnnie Walker Blue Label Just Released A Special Edition That Celebrates Beautiful Penang

By Wei-Yu Wang | January 02, 2020

An iconic whisky in an iconic bottle is getting a beautiful Malaysian touch, at least for a while. A limited 3,600-bottle run of Johnnie Walker Blue Label (RM988.88) has been released, sporting an illustration inspired by the city of Penang. Created by London-based illustrator Shan Jiang, the artwork wraps around the bottle as a flowing depiction of a dragon dance, with landmarks such as Kek Lok Si Temple in the background. Splashes of red usher in Chinese New Year with lanterns, as do a pair of rats on parade. Inside the bottle, nothing has changed — Blue Label is well-known by connoisseurs as the top of Johnnie Walker’s core range, and for its blend of old, rare whiskies and balanced and complex flavour.
