an elixir in crystal

Ever since the Louis XIII Mathusalem – six litre of precious Louis XIII cognac housed in a hand-blow crystal decanter crafted by Baccarat –  was unveiled in 2016, we at Robb Report Malaysia have been waiting to view this Biblical masterpiece in person. And now we – and all Louis XIII connoisseurs in Malaysia – have the chance. The first Louis XIII Mathusalem is arriving in Malaysia and will be displayed at the Couture Pavilion on Level Three of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur over the entire month of October.

With a decanter that requires over 20 master craftsmen to produce, this will be the first of a very limited number of Louis XII Mathusalems made available for the Malaysian market . Each bottle is individually numbered, presented in a display case with eight crystal glasses, a serving platter and a pipette, in honour of ancestral tasting and serving ritual of Louis XIII cellar masters. And inside the decanter is a historic blend that stretches back more than a century, an elixir with aromas of myrrh, honey, immortelle, plum, honeysuckle, wood bark, leather and passion fruits. It’s a heady combination that is worthy of the name Methuselah, the longest-living man man on Earth who, in the Bible, lived to the age of 969 years.
