sweet sweet fantasy

Usually, you book a suite and, if it is a suitable luxurious hotel, there will be a little sweet treat waiting on your pillow when you return from dinner. However, at the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort in Florida, it is the other way around. Purchase the set of four Crystal Macarons and you’ll qualify for an overnight stay at one of the hotel’s new four bedroom Sky Palace Suites. At US$9,703 for the set – that’s US$2425.75 (RM10,382) per confection – this is the most expensive macaron in the world.

What does one taste like? Made with white tea and decorated with edible gold leaf, the macarons rest on a cushion of sugar crystals within a keepsake crystal box provided by French label Lalique. To add pomp and circumstance, the Crystal Macarons will be served to you alongside a Signature Afternoon Tea on the suite’s private balcony. Take that all in, and enjoy the views from 9703 Collins Avenue, the address that lends itself to the price of this sweet, sweet package.
