Pyrat XO Reserve

The lore of Pyrat rum is the stuff of legend; an English sailor abandons ship for an unknown Caribbean island and meets the beautiful daughter of a cane grower. The sailor then creates the island’s first local rum and, in partnership with his new wife and witchcraft-practising mother-in-law, the trio builds the first rum factory on the island – later revealed as Anguilla.

Pyrat XO Reserve (RM450) artfully blends the manifold tastes of the Caribbean into a rich, and yet, mellow drink. This expression utilises nine rums from the Caribbean, aged up to 15 years in-toasted American oak and French limousin (some of which used to store orange liqueur).

The outcome is one which offers a veritable recall of elements: a citrusy, fruity nose followed by an almost-marmalade flavour on the palate with a finish of orange peel and spice.
