Svago, a confidential dining nook in the heart of Kuala Lumpur

Hidden charm

At the foot of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, Svago bistro and lounge is a quiet escape from the continuous bustle of shoppers, tourists and corporate types. Its ambience is immediately soothing with amber wall sconces, brick pillars, bronze ceilings, marble countertops and a generous swath of wood over floors and furniture.

In here, diners enjoy that feeling of a gentleman’s club, recreated with a soulful live band six nights a week. Its kitchen’s keen focus on food has wrought a menu of Italian with Asian tweaks. Crowd favourites include wood-fired pizzas, antipasti platters, mushroom barley risottos, herbed salmon and juicy Black Angus sirloin. The Asian slant meanwhile, is present in instances such as the Extra Spicy al ‘Amatriciana where bits of fiery Bird’s-eye chilli mingle with the roasted vegetables and pasta.
