This year’s Whisky of the Year at The International Whisky Competition offers a masterclass in the use of high-roasted chocolate malt, tumbled in the same manner as coffee beans. The Glenmorangie Signet (RM847) displays a finish that is unlikely to be imitated or ever forgotten; an intense and lingering vanilla creaminess that complements the mild initial coffee notes. As a result, the Signet is as comforting as a caffè mocha with an incredible depth including oranges and cinnamon in the background.
