Rolls-Royce Motor Cars makes possibly the best umbrella in the world

The good boys of Goodwood like to claim that their regal vehicles are ‘engineered to perfection’. They’re not wrong. And that’s a claim that extends to even the most utilitarian of accessories found in a Rolls-Royce: the umbrella. Made of carbon fibre and designed to unfurl with a minimum of fuss, the brand has now dedicated an entire room at Goodwood to this meteorological achievement.

The diorama depicts a frozen animation of its umbrellas furling up and finally slotting into its dedicated home in the door of a Rolls-Royce Ghost, where drainage holes and warm air flow dry it out immediately. Two umbrellas comes standard with most Rolls-Royce models, but for those need a spare, one can now be purchased for USD700/RM3,000 each.
