What better way to celebrate a century of watchmaking than with a world record? The new Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Automatic by Bvlgari is the world’s slimmest self-winding watch at just 3.95mm.
Technical solutions on the new Calibre BVL 288 include using aluminium and white gold on the oscillating weight, utilising the materials’ natural contrast in density to improve the automatic winding. A ball-bearing system on the flying tourbillon also reduces thickness on the 40mm sandblasted titanium timepiece, limited to only 50 pieces worldwide.
