New this year, the Patek Philippe Minute Repeater World Time 5531R-C is the first timepiece from the Geneva-based watchmaker to combine a minute repeater complication with world time display. It also signifies a world debut for a minute repeater which strikes the local time as opposed to home time, a feat made possible by the all-new self-winding Caliber R 27 HU, nestled within the 40.2mm rose gold case. On its 18k gold dial plate, a cloisonne enamel centre depicts the Lavaux landscape of the brand’s origins, a pastoral view of the famed wine-growing region on the shores of Lake Geneva. This artistic infusion also elevates the timepiece into the echelons of Patek Philippe’s rare handcrafts category.
