Chopard L.U.C hits the two decade mark with the right note

By Vishal Bhaskaran | February 08, 2017

Lucky strike

Two decades after its birth, Chopard Manufacture introduces its first-ever minute repeater: the L.U.C Full Strike. Developed, produced and assembled entirely in-house, this mechanism is imbued with enough energy to call out the time of 12:59 up to 12 times with a single full reserve of power.

Of note is the construction of the sapphire crystal gong – formed together with the watch glass from a single sapphire block. With the absence of breaks in between the gong and glass, acoustic waves are transmitted perfectly outwards of the piece creating a full-bodied sound and, a very literal interpretation of the phrase ‘crystal clear’.
