Cortina Watch Celebrates 50th Anniversary With Special Edition Franck Muller Timepieces

Franck Muller’s entry into the series of limited releases celebrating the golden jubilee of retailer Cortina Watch is one of the more technically impressive outings from the brand known as the ‘Master of Complications’ – the Vanguard Revolution 3 Skeleton. Its centrepiece is a triple-axis tourbillon, mounted at 6 o’clock beneath a magnifying element on the sapphire crystal for better viewing. The rest of the watch is not far behind: the tonneau-shaped watch is an impressive 56mm long by 46mm wide, while the sapphire as a whole dramatically curves over the complex architecture of the exposed and exquisitely hand-finished movement.

The Vanguard Revolution 3 Skeleton Cortina Watch 50th Anniversary Special Edition consists of five unique pieces. Each are lavishly gem-set: the white gold cases consist of 225 baguette-cut gems – diamonds, emeralds, or rubies – to the tune of 28.4 carats. Dial elements are coloured to match, giving each timepiece its own personality – from playful to moody and a few that are in-between.
