The flashy new red gold limited edition of the Breitling Chronoliner B04

In many ways, the Breitling Chronoliner B04 cuts to the very essence of the brand. At 46mm, it is large and unmistakable on the wrist, and the chunky bezel and three-register chronograph instantly mark it as a tool watch.

At the end of last year, a new limited edition of the Chronoliner B04 was announced, with an 18k red gold case. It retains the deep blue dial and bezel, while the hands and logo have been coloured to match the case. The overall effect is a striking contrast, without being too flashy.

While undoubtedly a statement piece, this Chronoliner remains as functional as ever. The large size aids in readability, and the additional red-tipped 24-hour hand and rotating 24-hour bezel make it possible to keep track three time zones at once. The automatic movement has a lengthy 70-hour power reserve, and the aforementioned chronograph’s 12-hour counter makes it a snap to time long-haul trips. All in all, it remains the ideal timepiece for the busy globetrotter — ‘the authentic flight captain’s watch’ indeed.

This version of the Chronoliner B04 is locally priced at RM147,800, and is limited worldwide to 250 pieces.
