This year, Franck Muller has just the thing for couples that are mad about each other, in the form of the Crazy Hours 15th Anniversary Asian Exclusive collection. It consists of a series of executions in three sizes; lady or gent, there is surely something that will suit your wrist. All are rather typical for the classic Crazy Hours (in that they are quite atypical as far as watchmaking usually goes): elegant tonneau-shaped cases, hand-sewn alligator leather straps, and of course the seemingly-random arrangement of numerals on the dial, with accompanying jumping hour hand.
The largest size has a case that is 55mm tall and 40mm wide (RM78,018 to RM207,741), and the medium version is 50mm by 36mm (RM68,796 to RM194,215). These are available in either stainless steel or 18-carat rose gold — the latter has the option of being diamond-studded. The lacquered dial can be blue or grey with a sunburst finish, though grey will be the only option for the rose gold case.
Ladies will likely be more interested in the smallest of the collection: 45mm by 32mm (RM54,963 to RM109,680), with vibrant red straps. These have a light-coloured dial and a strap of vibrant red, and are also offered in stainless steel and rose gold — the latter once again with or without diamonds.
No matter the choices, they would make a perfect matching pair, and would be a distinct and fun showcase of a couple’s passion for haute horlogerie — and each other.
