Richard Mille RM 68-01 Tourbillion Cyril Kongo

By Vishal Bhaskaran | August 08, 2016

Time in technicolour

Street artist Cyril Kongo’s canvasses are typically the bridges and walls of an urban sprawl. Imagine then, having to exponentially scale down the strokes he is accustomed to – and the tools – for the RM 68-01 Tourbillion Cyril Kongo.

Kongo, true to his bestowed moniker of Mr Colourful, introduced a palette of bright colours to the project. The execution required a new painting technique to be developed, a process which took over a year of experimentation.

The special airbrush, used by Kongo to put his artistic flourish on each one of the 30 timepieces, sprays paint a droplet at a time. As imbalance would directly affect the functionality of the calibre, the weight of the paint had to be accurately determined beforehand.

Pricing of this timepiece is available upon request.
