Using Fibonacci codes to create the snazzy 2018 Kalpa collection, Parmigiani Fleurier continues an horological adventure which began 20 years ago, when Michel Parmigiani created a tonneau-shaped movement. In the 18k rose gold Kalpa Chronor (CHF85,000/350,000) the ergonomics of chronograph activation is brought to life through the world’s first solid-gold, self-winding integrated movement. Its COSC-certified calibre PF365 had required six years to develop, boasting an oscillation rate of 5Hz for an accuracy in the reading of one tenth of a second. A closer inspection will reveal the master restorer’s detailed execution, with 54 internal angles and a hand-guilloche “Tresse” dial.
