Luxury group Alila Hotels and Resorts has just extended its reach in Bali with the opening of its fifth property on the island – the Alila Seminyak. Set on one of Bali’s most pristine beaches among shimmering pools cascading from a backdrop of vertical gardens, its 240 rooms and suites – and stunning penthouse – exude contemporary cool.

Venture outside and you’re in the lively trendy side of Seminyak, amid high-end designer boutiques, art and antique galleries and nightspots such as Ku De Ta, La Lucciola and Potato Head.

Boasting the island’s greenest resort credentials, Alila Seminyak far exceeds the standards of EarthCheck, the internationally recognised benchmarking and certification group for travel and tourism. The resort uses local and recyclable building materials, operates completely paperless and has its own bottled water. Alila Seminyak is encouraging guests to celebrate its opening by contributing to its “Gift to Share” programme, which provides funds for two neighbouring elementary schools and a local children’s home.
