Grand Openings – Crockfords Penthouse Suites, Resorts World Genting

Rarefied air in the clouds

The tableau of green foliage running along the ceiling as one exits the private elevator promises something special. Softly ensconced by the growlights that help sustain them, the tapestry of plants and the delightfully soft walls of live lichen is a motif that runs entirely through this, the newly-opened Crockfords Penthouse floor at Resorts World Genting. The green appears all three of the guest suites, open only to a select few patrons by request, unifying the entire space together in a lush ‘garden in the sky.’

The suites themselves are also carefully furnished in an understated way that is a sophisticated contrast to the vivid vegetation. American-built Sealy beds and Frette linen and robes embrace the guest in velvety contentment, while toiletries from Salvatore Ferragamo and Bulgari will literally bathe one in luxury. The layout of all three is unique, conforming to the existing architecture, from the cosy confines of suite 801 to the multi-room tranquillity of suite 803, the largest. Touches of personality dot the spaces, including two custom knotted bamboo art pieces by Thai artist Korakot Aromdee, which segues neatly to another Aromdee creation in the main hallway that leads to the swimming pool and the restaurant e18ghteen, designed as a loft-style extension of the ‘garden in the sky’ concept flooded by natural lighting. Up here in the clouds, the air is always something special, and the air here at the Crockfords Penthouse floor is rarefied indeed.
